지금은, 출발점으로 다가가는 청룡열차처럼 천천히 오르막을 오르다가 어느 순간 급작스레 바닥으로 떨어져 내린 느낌입니다. 그래서 다들 우울합니다.

영국 그룹 'Black Sabbath'를 기억하실지 모르겠습니다. '검은 안식일'이란 뜻을 가진 이 헤비메탈 그룹이 80년도에 재결성해 내놓은 첫 앨범이 바로 'Heaven and Hell' 입니다. 요령부득, 잔뜩 폼을 잡은 가사는 결국 '인생은 그렇게 그렇게 이어지고, 거기엔 좋을 때(Heaven)도 나쁠 때(Hell)도 있다'는 내용을 담고 있습니다. 위안이 될진 모르겠지만 치과계도 어떻게든 그렇게 굴러가고, 또 그러다보면 좋은 일도 나쁜 일도 있게 마련이지 않을까요?

Black Sabbath는 1967년 영국 버밍엄에서 결성됐고, 맴버는 Tony Iommi(기타), Bill Ward(드럼), Ozzy Osbourn(보컬), Geezer Butler(베이스) 이렇게 4명이었습니다. 이후 그룹은 해체되었다가 1980년 솔로로 독립한 Ozzy Osbourn 대신 레인보우의 맴버였던 Ronny James Dio가 합세하면서 활동을 재개합니다.

보컬 Ronny James Dio는 2년 정도 Black Sabbath에서 활동하다가 탈퇴해 Dio라는 헤비메탈 그룹을 결성하기도 했지만, 블랙 사베스에서와 같은 성공은 거두지 못했습니다. 그러다가 2010년 LA에서 위암으로 사망하죠.
